055-Waiting

It was getting colder and colder as Theron lost sight of the sun behind the giant wall of rocks. It had been midday when the landslide had pushed his parents and him off the road they were taking, they had started heading downwards on the path that would lead them back to the rest of the herd according to his father, so the fall hadn't been long however when Theron had woken up he had been surrounded by boulders twice his size and completely alone, as he stumbled back towards the mountain he also noticed there was no visible way for him to get back up to the path. He looked around and took note of the large forest that started just a couple of steps away from the mountain range, separated only by a small dirt road, Theron started walking, though limping may have been a better word to describe it, alongside the mountains hoping he would turn a corner and spot both his parents.
As the day went on Theron advanced in the general direction he thought the original path was heading, hoping that maybe he could spot someone, however once the light started to fade he was reminded of his mother's words. 'Stay still at night, you can't keep moving and making noise, you'll attract unwanted attention' She would say, whenever they would stop for the evening, so with a tired sigh Theron settled down against the rocks, huddling himself against the wall to keep warm, as the night also brought cold winds with it. Gripping his clothing close to himself, the little centaur watched the forest around him, hoping nothing would stare back from beyond the shadows. He sniffled a little, missing his mother's comforting warmth and voice, and hoped he would be found soon...

Drew little Theron again..yeah I don't think I've drawn him happy before..should probably remedy that soon. But that isn't the case today XD The scene came to mind when I read the prompt, after this Theron wakes up around dawn and not seeing his parents again he decides to go look for help. That's how he manages to stumble upon where some very nice grown ups decide to put some food in his belly and clean him up.

Worked more on mood lighting in this one, don't know how well it turned out but I liked it well enough Though critiques are always welcomed to any of my drawings.
